Aftercare for Dermal Fillers
-
Avoid touching the treated area or applying with any kind of products for 6-12 hours following treatment. Light Makeup, Lip Balm or Skincare can be applied and the area can be gently washed with soap and water.
-
Do not exercise for 48 hours after your procedure as it can cause migration of filler.
-
Do not expose the area to heat for 2 weeks after your treatment. This means sunbeds or saunas, steam room or sunbathing.
-
If you are using aspirin or any similar medication, please be aware that this may increase the risk of bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Do not take any blood thinning medications before or after your lip filler appointment for 48 hours.
-
The final result will be 14 days after treatment. After this time if you have any questions, please book in for a review after this two-week period is up.
-
Please note that it is normal for the treatment area to remain swollen for up to two weeks. During this time the area may feel bumpy, become bruised, look uneven and may feel sore. Please do not panic if this is the case. However any extreme bruising, discolouration, whiteness of the area or blanching of the skin please contact immediately.
-
Many clients find they need two or three sessions in order to layer filler on top of one another especially if you have virgin lips or treatment area. You may not receive the results you desire in one session.
-
Please remember each individual is different and has a different facial anatomy therefore one persons results will not be identical to another. Therefore the practitioner cannot be held accountable if several sessions are needed.

-
Do not let any water, lotion, soap, or makeup touch your eyebrow area during the first 7 days after your procedure.
-
Please wash your face carefully around the eyebrow without getting water on the treated area. During the shower, keep your face away from the shower head or take a bath.

-
Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days post procedure. Avoid picking or scratching as it can pull off scabs prematurely and cause patchy results or scarring. However, experience has shown that by following these after-care instructions, these symptoms may quickly disappear.

After 4 days, make sure your hands are completely clean and gently apply the post-care ointment with a cotton swab and clean hands. This can be done twice a day, at night time and morning time, but be sure to use the ointment sparingly as your skin needs to heal itself. Please continue to apply the ointment for 7 days.
